Meet The Team
Patience is a Quantity Surveyor and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Building Technology, Covenant University, Nigeria. She is the Convener of the WAiC Network. Patience is currently the Chair, Regional Center of Expertise (RCE) Ogun a United Nations accredited Center which serves as a learning hub for sustainable practices for people at the grass root. She is a signatory to the Global Consensus on Sustainability in the Built Environment (GLOBE), a global expert task force for sustainability in the built environment. She supervises post graduate students from within and outside Nigeria. She also serves as PG External Examiner both within and outside Nigeria. She mentors young academics in construction related disciplines to transform Africa’s research narrative. Her research interests are in construction management, construction education, gender issues in construction, sustainable construction, industry 4.0 & 5.0.
She is currently the Head, Department of Quantity Surveying, University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is a seasoned academic with decades of experience in teaching and research. She also serves as External Examiner in several Universities in Nigeria. Her research interest is construction management.
A seasoned professional of over 34 years of wide experience in Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Construction Management both in the construction industry and the academia. She started her working career in 1989 as a Quantity Surveyor with Bouygues Nigeria Limited, worked with Julius Berger Nigeria Plc; Lagos State Government as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Ministry of Housing and as Principal Quantity Surveyor in Ministry of Works and Infrastructure where she uniquely performed Cost Management services for major Engineering projects, after which she voluntarily retired in 2011 to set up a Consulting and Project Management Firm - Kemlad Consult where she is the Principal Partner till date and serves as consultant to several clients of private and public organisations including States and Federal Government Agencies. She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and she is registered with Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN).

Professor Jacqueline Glass FCIOB FCABE SFHEA is Dean of The Bartlett Faculty of The Built Environment and Professor of Construction Management, at University College London. Jacqueline has a background in architecture and specialises in construction innovation.
Professor Olubola Babalola is the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. She is the first female Professor of Quantity Surveying in Africa. Professor Babalola is a renowned scholar with cutting-edge innovative research in QuantitySurveying and Construction Management.
Florence Yean Yng LING is a full professor in the Department of the Built Environment, College of Design and Environment at the National University of Singapore. Her research is in construction project management focusing on project performance and work outcomes.
Dr Ntebo Ngozwana is a Skills development Specialist with over 30 years of combined experience in research, skills development, enterprise development and sector policy formulation. She is currently the Director Research and Development at the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) South Africa.
Our Team
Senior Research Specialist at the Council for Built Environment (CBE), Pretoria, South Africa and a PhD candidate at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. She is a feminist, researcher, practitioner and gender diversity and inclusion activist. Her research and policy interests lie in gender diversity and inclusion in STEM, women in leadership, factors contributing to economic empowerment of women, intersectionality and women’s political representation and participation. She has over ten years coordinating policy research between government and academic institutions, project management, intergovernmental and international relations, and stakeholder management.
A quantity surveying student at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria. She is a member of the Digital Girls Club. The forum was introduced by the Nigerian Ministry of Information and Communications Technology to help young girls develop their digital skills and to encourage them participate in the digital economy. She is also a member of the Growing Girls’ and Women in Nigeria (GWIN) a network introduced by the Nigerian Ministry of Finance. Through her dedication and engagement with these networks Zara has received several awards and accolades and her passion for personal development and community service has continued to grow.
Sandra is a multi-hyphenate currently serving as a Senior Architect at the Ministry of Transport and Public Works in Malawi. With over five years of experience in architecture and construction, she is skilled in architectural and sustainable design, project management, quality control and client relationship management. Her interests lie in gender diversity and inclusion, health, and sustainability in the built environment. She has founded SAGE Design & Build, Bwalo Lathu Collective, a feminist economic justice organization and SA & M Drugstore. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture. She has also lectured in the Department of Architecture at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (formerly the University of Malawi, the Polytechnic).
