I am a registered quantity surveyor with experience of over 18 years in private practices and 17 years teaching and research experience in Higher Institute of learning. Passionate in impacting knowledge and training of younger professionals in Construction Health and Safety Management; Construction Management; Construction procurement; Construction Risk Management; Construction Cost Management. As well as specialty in Health Safety and Environment (HSE) consultancy and project development consultancy.  

Dr. Opeyemi Asaju is a lecturer and researcher with interest in climate responsive building materials with focus on machine-pressed earth blocks (MPEB) and indoor environmental quality. Registered architect, member,  Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), associate member of Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB), member,  green building council of Nigeria.

An accomplished architect and landscape architect, Professor Nnezi Uduma-Olugu is an academician straddling various aspects of the built environment. With a first class in architecture and a gold medal in her studies as a Canadian Commonwealth Scholar, she has been both ractice and teaching of architecture and landscape architecture. Apart from architecture and landscape architecture, Professor Nnezi is also interested in urban studies, biophilic design and tourism. She is the coordinator of the Executive Masters in Interior Design program of ULBS (University of Lagos Business School) She has written four books and is passionate about mentorship. 

Dr. Oluwatosin Dorcas Ayanleke (née Babalola) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture, Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeria. She holds a PhD in Architecture from Covenant University, Ota. Her research focuses on lean construction, climate-responsive and sustainable housing, biophilic design, and digital competencies in architectural education, mainly in Nigerian and West African contexts.  She has published widely in journals, Springer book chapters and international conference proceedings, supervises postgraduate research, and serves as a peer reviewer and journal editor.

Blessing is a B.Tech graduate in Industrial and Technology Education (Building Technology) from the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna), Nigeria, currently awaiting NYSC mobilization. Core Research Work Blessing's final-year research, "Integration of Mineral Wool as a Sustainable Building Construction Material in Minjibir, Kano State, Nigeria," investigated the adoption of mineral wool insulation in construction practice, supervised by Dr. Opeyemi Dolapo Alawode. The study used a descriptive survey design, drawing a sample of 120 respondents from a population of 170 via Taro Yamane sampling, and applied a 5-point Likert scale alongside independent samples t-tests analyzed in IBM SPSS v26 (Cronbach's alpha 0.84–0.87). The work was grounded in a dual theoretical framework combining the Diffusion of Innovations theory and the Theory of Planned Behaviour, examining both how sustainable materials spread within the construction sector and the behavioral factors shaping their adoption. Broader Interests & Direction Beyond this project, Blessing maintains a strong interest in sustainable building materials and the built-environment profession, with coursework spanning industrial materials and manufacturing processes, building site practice, and quantity surveying fundamentals. Post-graduation, Blessing is pursuing voluntary site-supervision attachments in Abuja, plans to register with the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) as a Graduate Grade member, and intends to pursue certifications in tools like AutoCAD or Revit.

Professional Bio   Mary Adio-Moses is an architect, researcher, and academic with a strong interest in sustainable architecture, urban development, environmental design, and the relationship between the built environment and human well-being. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Architecture, with research interests centred on the application of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), to address environmental challenges and promote healthier, more resilient urban environments. Her research interests include urban green spaces, green infrastructure, sustainable urban development, environmental quality, urban resilience, public parks, adaptive thermal comfort, social equity, housing redevelopment, and gentrification, with particular emphasis on the urban context of Lagos State, Nigeria. Her work explores how planning and architectural interventions can improve environmental quality, strengthen urban resilience, enhance social inclusion, and contribute to more equitable and sustainable cities. As an emerging academic and built-environment professional, she is committed to advancing evidence-based architectural research and contributing to sustainable, inclusive, and resilient urban development through research, professional practice, teaching, and knowledge dissemination.

Maria Musa Mukaddas is a Nigerian Quantity Surveyor, construction management professional, researcher, and lecturer at Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP), Bauchi, where she currently serves as Head of the Department of Quantity Surveying. She holds a B.Tech. in Quantity Surveying from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, and an M.Sc. in Construction Management from the University of Jos. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Construction Management at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. She has been an academic since 2011 and has extensive teaching experience in building measurement, construction management, estimating, tendering, cost control, and contract administration. She is a Registered Quantity Surveyor (RQS) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS). Her professional and research interests include construction cost management, project delivery, cost control, construction productivity, and sustainable construction practices. She has authored and co-authored research publications in these areas and has contributed to professional and academic development through leadership, community engagement, and capacity-building activities. Her career reflects a strong commitment to professional excellence, quality education, research, and the advancement of the construction industry.

I am Ohunene Rukayat Usman, a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) graduate in Civil Engineering from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. My academic and research interests focus on Geotechnical Engineering, particularly soil stabilization, with a strong commitment to developing sustainable, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective engineering solutions. My research focuses on improving the engineering properties of problematic soils through innovative stabilization techniques and the use of locally available and sustainable materials. I am particularly passionate about research that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contributes to sustainable infrastructure development and environmental protection. My research experience has resulted in publications and conference contributions in soil stabilization and sustainable construction materials. My publications include “Influence of Cow Bone Powder on Selected Engineering Properties of Lime-Stabilized Soil” (2024), “Influence of Cow Bone Powder on Consistency and Compaction Behavior of Lime-Stabilized Soil” (2023), and “Compressive Strength Properties of Concrete Containing Calcium Carbide Residue” (2026). Beyond research, I am a determined, resilient, and growth-oriented individual who believes in continuous learning and development. I remain motivated to keep moving forward despite challenges, viewing them as opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable engineering and society.

Dr. (Mrs.) Temidayo O. Aduloju is a Quantity Surveyor, academic, researcher, project management professional, and built-environment practitioner with expertise in sustainable construction and project delivery. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Quantity Surveying at Lagos State University (LASU), Epe Campus, and a construction project professional with experience in cost management, project control, construction monitoring, procurement, and quality assurance.   Her core research areas include sustainable construction and built-environment resilience, climate change adaptation and mitigation, construction health and safety, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI) in construction, construction project management, and innovative approaches to improving construction productivity and quality. Her research interests are particularly focused on developing resilient, sustainable, technology-driven, and people-centred solutions for the built environment.   Dr. Aduloju holds a PhD in Quantity Surveying from Obafemi Awolowo University and is a PMP® and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MNIQS). Her academic and professional work reflects a strong commitment to bridging research, industry practice, sustainability, and community impact.

Assistant Professor at Coventry University and Course Director for the MSc Construction Project and Cost Management programme. My work focuses on enhancing curriculum quality, fostering student success, and strengthening industry engagement while teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.  With over a decade of experience spanning higher education and professional practice, I specialize in project management, budget monitoring, and digital measurement. I am committed to creating research-informed and inclusive learning environments that bridge theory and practice, equipping future professionals in the construction and built environment industries to navigate complex challenges effectively.

I am a builder and advocate for *energy efficiency in the built environment* committed to advancing sustainable construction practices in Nigeria. As a woman in the construction industry, I bring practical, on-site experience to conversations about how buildings can be designed and delivered to use less energy while improving comfort and reducing long-term costs. My work focuses on translating energy-efficiency principles into real project decisions. I advise clients on high-impact, low-cost solutions such as specifying *casement windows instead of sliding windows* to improve airtightness and natural ventilation, and recommending *biodigesters instead of conventional septic tanks* to reduce emissions and explore biogas as an alternative energy source. I am passionate about making energy-efficient building the standard rather than the exception, especially in our climate. To deepen my impact, I intend to pursue formal studies in *Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment* to strengthen my technical foundation and contribute to research, teaching, and industry practice. Through WAIC, I hope to connect with other women academics and professionals in construction to share knowledge, mentor the next generation, and promote building practices that are climate-resilient, affordable, and people-centered.

Maryam Batool is a Gold Medalist researcher and Senior Research Affiliate at Amity University Dubai with an MS in Chemistry and extensive research experience in environmental remediation, wastewater treatment, adsorption, photocatalysis, polymer nanocomposites, biochar, sustainable materials, and contaminant removal. Her research particularly addresses dyes, heavy metals, emerging pollutants, and advanced materials for water purification. She has authored numerous peer reviewed publications and completed more than 500 scientific peer reviews for international journals. She received Elsevier Excellence in Reviewing recognition and the ACS Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholars Recognition, ACS Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Chemical Safety and Ethics, ACS Analytical Chemistry Younger Chemists Conference Travel Grant, and Sustainable Future Travel Grant. She serves on multiple early career editorial boards and contributes to ACS through professional leadership and scientific outreach. She is also Chair of the Social Media Team at InterPore and an official Social Media Representative for the ACS Division of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry. Her activities include international research collaboration, student mentoring, scientific communication, conference presentations, and UN volunteering. She founded Young Researchers to provide research and academic training to emerging scholars worldwide.
